Dependence Day

Yep. I wrote it right. My country is independent from tyrants, but my soul is dependent on Jesus Christ. Praise His name!
Yesterday we went on a new bike trail with the girls. Nathan had to work...but we rode 10 miles, saw beaver dams, crossed the Sturgeon River several times (on a bridge) and watched Tim change his bike tire..it was a beautiful afternoon and soft serve ice cream never tasted so good after that dusty, sweaty ride!
Then we got home, changed clothes and went to the local parade. We saw some friends and got some laughs. There were just a couple veterans towards the end but I was so proud of my girls, they got right up off the curb and clapped for them. I got goose bumps. I am so thankful for the men and women that work in all the no name places to serve our country and it's people. We are blessed mightily as a nation.

I love the shirts. The girls tie dyed them, and they did a great work! Daddy didn't want his tie dyed, so they stuck to tradition and used the ole' hand print design. He has all the old ones and cannot bear to throw them away..such a marshmallow.

We celebrated fireworks with some dear, dear friends in Petoskey last night. They have a gorgeous spot up on the hill, with a view of the bay. You could see Harbor Springs and Petoskey's fireworks at the same time.

I went to my breast cancer support group (that's almost funny if you think about it long!) Tuesday night. What a blessing! I met a woman, who now has cancer in her bones. She drove but then transferred to a wheelchair because she can't bear much weight on her bones. It's sad but you know--she encouraged ME that night. She pointed me back to what's most important, my faith in Jesus Christ and my family..
I couldn't help but wonder if that will ever be me some day. I don't want it to be. She has kids younger than mine. Until you have had cancer, I can't begin to explain to you what I mean. It's not morose, it is an awareness that your life isn't always "safe." Yet in Christ, it is. It's a wild paradox I guess.

Will you pray for my new friend? She and her husband need wisdom for the next step..
God knows her name.

I had a goof up and published this twice!

Sorry folks!

Love all of you--remember to be dependent on Jesus, only He can supply what you really, truly need in the depths of your soul.

He is faithful,
Bonnie

What a fun "dependence" day you all had!! Tim comes by it naturally, I have trouble getting rid of sweet memories, too.
Will, of course, pray for your new friend, and continue to pray for you and Steve.

So when did you get the new Puppy?
She sure is cute!!

Daniel and I drove home from Michigan CFO on the 4th. It was a great camp!

Love you all!! Mom ;-)

You look great friend! As does your sweet family.

Thank you for the always gentle reminders that life is sweet, and we should never ever take it for granted.

Praying for you, and for your new friend.

I've been thinking of you~
