Circle the wagons!

I absolutely love this picture. Wasn't my brother adorable? We are sitting in the very same wagon that now graces my living room (thanks J and C, you guys are awesome!!!)
I remember pulling him all over tarnation and upsetting the contents of the wagon on a pretty regular basis. We had many adventures together he and I. It's hard to understand that my Heavenly Father knew what was ahead for both of us...but even as we sat there in that wagon together, He knew. I find solace in that believe it or not.

Last week, he and Amy met with Drs at Karmonos Cancer Institute in Detroit. To say the news was good, would be bad. They did not give Steve very great statistics concerning his survival. Did you know the stats for me? If I am a good girl, and do all the treatments, the "chances" of me being around in 10 years is 74.9%. I forget my own land line number, but not that one. It is seared into my grey matter.
Steve has new numbers to brand his mind.
He was told by the Dr in Grand Rapids, he had about a 25% "chance" of beating it, 3 weeks ago.
The Dr in Detroit told him less than 10%.
Obviously, we are dealing with an aggressive cancer.
It has come back 2 times now, in less than a year.
Even after chemotherapy and radiation...

When the settlers were being attacked by indians, they circled their wagons and fought bravely.
I guess I used that picture to try to help you understand how much we need to circle Steve, Amy and their 4 sons right now with prayer, lots of it. They need protection from fear, hopelessness and despair.

The Word of God says that the "The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much" James 5:16
Psalm 91 states, "For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the fowler and under His wings you may seek refuge. His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark."

This Wednesday they go back to Detroit, to see what decision the board of Drs' has arrived at, concering his treatment. He may need surgery, he may need to start chemo--- everyone is guessing at this point.

I do not know what else to write. My heart aches. I want him to be "done" with this cancer stuff. My Mom could use your prayers too. Her heart is breaking...

Please pray for that little boy, who has now grown into a God fearing man.

Thanks...
I'll keep you posted after Wednesday..

He is faithful,
Bonnie

This prayer wagon in Alaska is going to help cover the Northern tip of the circle. What a beautiful picture and visual to help us "Circle up!"

Love and Prayers,
Kristine

I'm circling my Texas wagon, and seeing as how everything is BIG in Texas, mine should take up where Kristine's wagon leaves off!

Oh Bonnie, my heart aches for Steve and Amy and their boys, for your mom, for you . . . for all who know and love your brother, and I know that is many.

Please know that I am praying with you. Thank you for sharing the precious picture of you and Steve.

Love you,

Tina

Bonnie, It is sad to say that I have not seen your family since Steve got married. When the Forrester kids walked in on the reception. That was a while ago. As a kid I always looked forward to coming over to the house to see your dad and mom and of course you and Steve even though I was the youngest I usually hung out with your dad and mine.
The summer nights in Michigan are something that I miss the most, all of those fireflies. What it would be like to go back to that time, 30 some years ago. I do miss your dad he was a great man and was always sweet to me. I am praying for you,Steve, your mom and the rest of the family and know that your faith, family and friends will pull you all through these trying times. Love and prayers Liz Forrester (Sarah McNally)
